Eoghan Cunneen

Eoghan Cunneen is a Virtual Production Technology Supervisor at Lucasfilm’s Advanced Development Group and a member of ILM’s virtual production engineering team. He oversees the technology strategy for ILM’s Virtual Art Department and content creation pipeline strategy for ILM Virtual Production projects and ILMxLAB, ILM’s immersive entertainment division.

Eoghan was a Lead Virtual Production Pipeline Engineer on The Mandalorian Season 1 before moving into a Virtual Production CG Supervisor role for The Mandalorian Season 2, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Book of Boba Fett and the forthcoming The Mandalorian Season 3 and Ahsoka Disney+ series. Eoghan’s ILMxLAB credits include Alejandro González Iñárritu’s Oscar-winning VR installation Carne y Arena and Disney Parks & Resorts’ Star Wars attraction Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run.

Eoghan is a member of Lucasfilm and ILM’s virtual production engineering team that received the Engineering, Science and Technology Emmy Award for the StageCraft Virtual Production Tool Suite in 2022.

Prior to joining Lucasfilm, Eoghan was a Technical Director and Pipeline Engineer at Framestore’s London and Montreal studios. Eoghan first gained on-set experience as a technical director while working on Alfronso Cuarón’s multi Oscar-winning film Gravity, which included Best Achievement in Visual Effects.

Eoghan is a co-founder of The Irish VFX + Animation Summit, which ran in Dublin, Ireland between 2013 and 2015. In 2018, Eoghan curated Immersive Stories, a two-day conference and exhibition as part of the Dublin International Film Festival.

Originally from Ireland, Eoghan studied Computer Science at Trinity College Dublin. He currently resides in San Francisco, California with his wife Molly and their new,  larger-than-expected puppy, Mila.
